If you like the look of a single large piece of plate armor that covers most of the entire torso, then you’re not alone. This is the breastplate that allows the craftsman to add the most art to the chest, may it be fluting or embossing or some other.
1-piece breastplates were the standard for plate protection of the torso for a long time, and the single continuous bottom edge neatly allows for faulds and tassets to be added to the harness. Heavier, but more coverage and quite imposing to stand against.
